Arabidopsis thaliana / Brassica rapa
Identify and characterize the mode-of-action of immunogenic sugars that burst plant immunity. To develop new bioprotective compounds against crop diseases and discover new genes for crop breeding for resistance in Brassica
(Fernández-Calvo et al., 2024; Molina et al., 2024; Martin-Dacal et al., 2023)

Oligosaccharides with a potential immunogenic activity in crops
So far, we know that sugars derived from chitin and cellulose activate immunity in “grelos”. Others are being analyzed with a multi “omics” approach.
Sugars such as CHI6 and CEL3 derived from damaged plant and/or fungi cell walls, respectively trigger immune responses in B rapa
in response to mixed-linked-glucans in grelos.
